Launched on 9th February 2003 as the replacement for BBC Choice, BBC Three is the corporations 'youth' channel. The first set of idents featured a series of animated 'blobs' acting out senes based on archive recordings.
IDENT - BEER GUT
"I drink loads of it. I'm trying to get a beer gut, but, still can't anyway so I love it. Great, it's good for me."
IDENT - ERM
Er, we're, so, erm, er, rather than, er, er it's a bit, we've, we've erm.
IDENT - MOHECAN
"I've got a mohecan, which means that it's shaved at the sides and there's a line of hair down the middle which is about 5 inches high."
IDENT - ALIEN
"And of course, er, we compared notes, we'd both seen the same thing, except that his man was sort of greenish metallic because he had his sunglasses on."
